AxeMan - Rick S. Random Shots 2013

15 seconds on this one in camera. I normally use a corded remote but was giving my thumb a rest (and having a smoke) when this one was taken. Exposure can very from shot to shot depending on my location and light pollution. I wanted to try a new location and wanted to capture something over the farm instead of shooting just and open field which I have a habit of doing.

This is a single strike and I never dreamed it would be right in front of me. I had to crop out my shelter as I'm still working on tweaking this years set up and hope to go wider yet in future shots.

This was the D7100 maiden voyage for lightning photography and I just amazed at the results, now to work a little more on my set up and some different locations.

Ok Corey & Pat, I "tried" a rear angle shot for a change. Not to say I don't like it, just unsure about it. Just trying to salvage a test shot from today. Nothing serious here.

Note the bondo patches on the door?

Hi Rick... Nice test shot! I did a bunch of those... not that I know enough to be a critic! :) I think that rear angle works but may be better suited to a muscle car .. Also, I did some at that angle and did not like as well if they had another car parked next....

It would work better (IMO) if the other car and garage were not there... Corey or someone else with more experience may see it different!

Hey, I recognize those taillights from another shot!
