Autofocus Button for MB-N14

On my Z6III I have the MB-N14. Would like to program the AF-ON button the same as the AF-ON button on the camera, which is set up for back focus.

I set it for AF-ON or Same as AF-ON and it isn't focusing.

I tried to program the Vertical multi selector for Select center focus point and it doesn’t work. Tried programming for Auto Focus and it doesn’t work.

Since neither can be programmed I'm beginning to believe it's malfunctioning.

Even if there is 0% chance of getting a quick resolution, this needs to be reported to Nikon so they document it and perhaps address this in future firmware.
