Auto Focus Problem

I have a D750 camera body and a Nikon 24-70MM F/2.8G ED FX lens. Intermittently, when attempting to autofocus from 70MM, the lens will freeze and vibrate like it is trying to adjust but can't. The lens has been in repair three times but the repair facility is unable to issolate down to a fault or even replicate the problem. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how di you resolve it?

I have not had this issue. What are the conditions when you encounter them?

Glad to be here.

The two times this occurred it was at a concert, low light overall, but stage lights popping on and off. Most of the shots are candid of the artists and focus changes have to happen quickly moving from one portion of the stage to the other. That's when it freezes. VR is not a factor.

I am betting that it was a factor of the low lights combined with the stage lighting changing constantly. To much movement and light changing. Something just got confused. I am betting it is not a lens issue but just a very specific combination of lighting situations. I doubt Nikon or you would ever be able to recreate it enough to fix it especially sine it only happened to you twice out of how many shots?
