Auto focus, I think I broke it

I'm hoping someone has seen this before.

D800 will not auto focus at with any of my lenses.
50mm 1.8
24mm 2.8
200mm f4

I cannot use the AF mode selector button either to select between A or C or 9 point or 51 etc.. Nothing happens when I press the button.

I've done a two button reset and a firmware update.

Any thoughts?

I may have twisted the 24mm while it was in af mode a small amount. Its a new lens.....:shame:

Do you have any other len's that will autofocus?

My cameras have a rotating switch around the button for Auto or Manual Focus... have you knocked that my accident?

Thanks,

The switch is in the right place (I've toggled it about 1000 times today in frustration) . Even when I press the button to select the AF mode on this switch nothing happens.

The button will not do anything if the switch is in M mode.

Some lenses also have the same M mode on them, check the lens too.
The button does nothing in manual focus mode.

I registered to specifcally answer this question because I had a similar problem.

In addition to the points above, please refer to the image below and read on:

D800.jpg

Have you accidentally moved this switch to 'L'? If so, it will lock whatever autofocus settings you had at the time of setting it. Had me stumped for about, well, 10 minutes but it felt like much longer.

I had exactly the same happen to me last weekend. I had accidentally moved the switch to L (locked!)
