Yeah but is it better? I get alot of noise in single exposures then when I add multiple dark frames it takes away from the image to the case that I am willing to remove every single hot spot... Not done in timelapse unless you want stars sitting still or evolving.
Time lapse is a whole different ballgame. Stacking only works for still images. So in camera noise reduction is really your only choice

Wornish, great pic. U got a bit more swirl out of bode than I did. I ran 3x30 sec,3x60 sec,3x90,3x120 without looking at my exif I don't recall iso but used the d5000 through an st80 x400mm relescope
