I have said many times i like using my D70,thought about this statement this morning and considered the fact i only use it on bright days and when looking for particular subjects,well it was overcast some sunny intervals and showers today so decided to try it in the real world.
Cant say i would enjoy it much as my only camera,low ISO,slow hunting focus,and not much cropping for distant subjects,these below where with the 55-300 and it was frustrating work.

I used my Mum's old D70s with a Sigma 18mm prime lens, for 3 months to see how I got on before buying my D3100. I was amazed how light the 3100 was! The D3100 has been sold now, but the D70s (With velcro flash release!) is still going strong as the family back-up body!

I've enjoyed a bit of a catch up on your posts Mike. Some lovely shots in there, especially the birds and especially the little fluffed up sparrow and the swallow with the feather in its mouth
