Anyone using an Epson R280?

Well, I've been trying valiantly for days to get a B&W print out of my Epson R280 but it seems to only want to combine colors to make B&W. I can print big bold text in perfect black, but not photos. I've tried everything from making sure that every available option to print in grayscale instead of color is selected. I've managed color from both the printer and PS/LR and nothing. It's got a black in cartridge, and as I said, there's no issue with text.

I'm doing this from my Mac, and haven't tried it yet from my PC, though that's the next step, but I thought I would at least check with you folks.

Check the print dialog window and look for color settings; set for grayscale or black&white.
