I have a D7100, D610 and D810. I started with the D7100 and love(d) it. I knew I was going to get an FX body and got the D610 and then the D810 when it came out. Each has it's uses and I really love all three. As far as lenses, I know that these bodies are only as good as the glass, so I got the trinity of 2.8 zooms and they really bring out the best in these cameras. Of course the dx 7100 sees these lenses differently and that's one reason I'm keeping it. For macro, I got a 60mm 2.8 macro that sees it as 90mm on the 7100 and works wonderfully. And the 105 2.8 macro is perfect on the fx bodies. I use the 610 as a workhorse and use the 810 for when I'm looking to really get the best results I am able to and have already done my homework. If you're getting a D810, I'd suggest getting the best lens you can afford and for the uses that suit your style of photography. I can attest to the great images that the 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8 VRII produce, but they are very pricey. A really good inexpensive lens is the 50mm G 1.4 and the 1.8 is also very good. Actually I have the 50mm 1.8D that I got new for less than $100 and it is really nice as well. Good luck with your D810, it's a beast!!
