Any one using a tripod shoulder pad.

Carrying around a mini tripod all day today in the woods got me to thinking there must be an easier way. I don't like backpacks and have recently started wearing a vest of many pockets and really like it. Saw one suggestion of using a luggage strap attacked to the tripod so you could sling it on you back. Anyone heard of of tried that?

I could see for my large tripod the method in your post using pads might be the ticket.

Yes i would like to carry it set up,tripod, gimbal head and 150-600,thought if it worked for me i may invest in a carbon fiber tripod and gimbal head.

I've got a carbon fibre tripod fitted with a gimbal head and when I have my 810 fitted with my 600mm lens it get's to be quite a load to haul around, so I bought one of the "pads" mentioned above (the same company in fact) and it works a treat, I carry it all set up and just plonk it down when and where I'm ready to shoot.... I also bought one of their waterproof lens covers as well... good company to deal with...

cheers
