Any full frame owners going to pick up the D500 just for the speed ??

Though I am not a full frame owner, I'd like to have this one in my collection. Main reasons being extremely high ISO and a 4K video. These features, combined with a flipping mirror, make the D500 a good choice for videographers and photographers shooting indoors, especially...

The D500 isn't full frame either ... or
have I misunderstood you?

I'm basicly with @BackdoorHippie on this. FPS not important as much as buffer size. Anything would be better than the D7100 in that regard.
ISO and reach yes. If it would get me close to the D750 in the ISO department then I might consider it. Unfortunately for me, I would not be able to keep both the D750 and the D500, so it's really a mute point. I didn't realize how nice it was to have a backup camera until the D750 went down. But it's nice to have dreams.

Surely your wife will lend you her D500 when she gets it:confused:

No, it is a DX. But I would own it rather than (almost) any FF... I believe, the author of this post had mentioned "ff owners" because the D500 belongs with that price range (for the time being, that is)...

I love it each time they introduce a new model. Simply the older models price fell. One day the D4 would cost under $1k. Isn't that great?

Of all the features, ability to shoot at higher iso is what I love most. It means I don't need a big lens to shoot at the speed I need.
