Ankle reconstruction and etc.

I retired a few months back so I could have more time to shoot. Within a month I torn the rotator cuff. Finally got back to shooting after that surgery. Fell and broke the leg so not shooting again. Got my D7000 finally and have barely been able to get out and shoot.

One of these days you and I need to go out together and shoot all we want for a couple of weeks. Someplace Dry, warm and sunny.

That might be a good shoot. We could catch each others fall, or at least catch the cameras fall :)
I did a lot of hiking here in Oregon and on the coast. Lots of mountain hikes and the pacific trail.
I don't know if I can, but now my goal is south sisters mountain. Might take a year or two to get back in shape. Its amazing just how fast you become out of shape from something like this.

Whoah man, that's some serious bad luck, were you covered on medical insurance? I smashed my ankle some years ago doing a parachute drop with 40 kilos of kit on my back. Out of commission for 11 months, don't push it along too hard, it takes time. Like you, I'm plated up down there, plays havoc going thru metal detectors! But it does get better, I was back to fighting fitness in about a year, that was probably the hardest year of my life. Watching my crew going off and me unable to join them.....

If you want to call the medical insurance I have thru work insurance... Then yes. I have insurance. :). Worse insurance policy I've seen. Probably canceled now due to Obamacare :)
Anyway. It's amazing what they can do with plates and screws. I was fortunate to have the surgeon who is with the USA SKI Team.
When I was younger, 40 years ago, I had 1/3 of my calf and Achilles' tendon blown off from schapnel ( other leg ) which required the surgeon to basically superglue the bones back together and hope a skin graph took. Technology has come a long way since then.
