These Sony phones we got are getting to be a pain, mine now says there is not enough internal memory to update apps, moved everything it would let me onto the SD card but only gained 300mb,now being old and past it i dont want or need half the apps that came preloaded, they could be gone or on the SD card but it will not let me move them, things like face book ect,any one know a safe free app that will over ride the phone and let me move or delete things.

I use something called AppMgr Mike, it lets you move apps to the SD card etc, and can clear the cache of apps that store a lot of guff (But maybe not much if your phone is new). You should be able to remove Facebook etc. from the normal "Applications" menu under Settings I think?

Thanks i will look at both of those ideas, the only thing i have added to the phone memory is about 250mb of the sat nav app,the maps are on the SD card.

First of all, you can free up some room by clearing your apps cache and wiping the cache partition. If this hasn't been done in a while, it is probably using a lot of space.

To clear app cache: settings/storage/cached data

What version of Android are you on?

Its Jelly Bean,i cleared everything the phone would allow and it was only about 150mb and as i say thats got me up to 300mb but out of 2gb its not much.

IIRC Jelly bean won't let you move anything but media/data to the SD card.

Only 2GB user storage?! How much total storage? And what is the model of this phone?

If you have already cleared the app cache described above, next is to clear your cache partition. This does not affect any user data.

2GB isn't much these days, unfortunately there may be a lot of preloaded apps you will not be able to delete without root access; one reason I tend to steer clear of carrier supplied phones (especially Verizon and ATT).

Thanks i have managed to remove a few and disable loads, now got 546mb so with less apps and most of them disabled i should be good for a while,it was bought network free.
