I get a lot of salt spray on my filters as I tend to spend a lot of time at the beach or on boats with my camera. I have filters on most of my lenses so rarely clean the lens glass itself but have to clean filters regularly. I have found plain water works the best. I tried propriety lens cleaners and 100% ethanol (don't ask where I got it 
) and still find water to be best
