Went to Strasburg railroad today with the grandson for a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. Not a lot of pictures as the wind chill was about 12 degrees. At least they had the potbelly stoves fired up in the cars.

Somehow during the ride I lost my camera to a three year old. He started with a picture of his Mom. That is steam from the engine in the last shot.

The change of seasons, a few milkweed seeds hanging on from autumn while if you look close those white spots are ice on the lake. Winter is coming.

There were no Canadian Geese on this lake all summer so I guess he is just here vacationing for the winter. I tried to check his passport but he took off.

Took a ride on the Steam Into History train. It runs on the same rail bed that the train that brought Lincoln to Gettysburg and the Lincoln funeral train used to come through York County. The Confederates also raided some areas along this route on their movements to Gettysburg. Every trip has a couple reenactors aboard.

The real reason we rode the train. We heard he would be riding on our trip back.

Marilynne- His parents told him when we got there and they had the kids watching out the windows on the ride. The best part was Santa had time to stop and talk with all the kids on the way back. The book they gave them was of high quality and he loves to have someone read to him. Might turn into a tradition for the next couple of years.

They also had a local group singing Christmas Carols both at the station and on the ride.

How much snow did you get today? Just spoke with my sister-in-law in Fleetwood and she's still digging out.

Only have about 3 inches but now it is sleet and freezing rain. There is a crust over the snow and the road in front of the house is a sheet of ice. I would rather have the snow than this stuff.
