This is taken from the top of Second Mountain facing south looking through Indiantown Gap. This is an area to watch the Hawk migration however on this day there were none to be seen.
I understand some winter in south Texas. They are a very shy bird and it sometimes takes a while to find them. I have been watching these since last March when I first saw them from across the lake. They tend to take off at first sight of someone and when one takes off most tend to follow. These recent shots I got from behind trees and bushes. Even then I had more take off than I ever got pictures of. This is one of the first shots I got last April and as you see I was not very close.
Went to a local Barnstormer Air Circus today. Took over 300 shots so it mat be a couple days till I post the good stuff. In the mean time here are a couple.
