Nice photos Alan. You really do get into the weeds, lol![]()
Tonight I stopped on the way home to take a walk along the canal. My Dr wants me to walk more and of course I always carry my camera with me on these walks. I was not really ready for what happened next as it would be the last place I would go looking for this photo op. Along the canal from behind me flew a Red Tailed Hawk. I got off one poor shot and figured "Oh Well" another missed opportunity. I watched as he headed up into the trees but never saw him come out. I walked down the canal a little further and there he sat in a low branch of one of the trees. Well here is the poor shot and what I saw when I first spotted his perch. Look close you will see him on the bottom bare branch just left of center.

I really like this one. The wing touching the water is wonderful.
All the ones following are nice.
I believe this is a Mallard hen with a color variation. I have never seen one like this but maybe someone else has. The white head really stood out among all the ducks on the lake.

I did post it on their Facebook page. Got no defining response yet.You should contact Cornell Institute and see if this is a rare siting.
Brilliant what you've been doing with that Coolpix Alan.
