Age old question

I am sure that this has been asked many times before but here goes. I have been asked to attend our village get together ( which I was going to anyway) and to take photos and then offer the prints for sale. 2 sizes 10 x 15 cm and 20 x 30 cm Question is how much per print ?

I would think the pricing would be driven pretty much solely by the local market, depending on the customers, what they will pay and maybe a little on subject matter.

Is this going to be like a booth where they can get a casual picture made, or selling the prints after the event?

Is it for profit or for the benefit of the village??

I will be wandering around taking shots of everything/body then later the photos will be put on the village website and people can order them. profit for me and village as I am doing their website + all photos. I am hoping that this could be the start fo a new job for me. As stated in an earlier post I am about to have a metal plate put in my neck and my previous job of driving competition cars round race tracks has been forced to finish. hence I need to make money

I was thinking of 5€ for the small and 10€ for the large . Seems cheap to me but just not sure.

Sounds about right, but then I'm a few thousand miles away. One thing which you probably have already tried is searching for websites in your part of the world offering similar size & purpose prints.

Determining your expenses, how many you think will sell and calculating potential profit may help you decide if those prices are high or low from an income point of view.

Then think about would you rather be high and sell few or low and sell more. 10 X 10 = 100 compared to 15 x 8 = 120.

Last is the trial and error of doing it the first time.

Hope it goes well.

Find your true cost and double or triple it and see if that is in range. You might also want to look into having them printed and mounted since the finished product looks much better than handing a print by itself.
