A lot of members like the Black Rapid strap, but I prefer to carry my camera on my left shoulder plus I didn't want to use the tripod socket for the strap. After looking at several straps at my local camera store, I got a Tamrac N-45.
My camera bags are made by Tamrac which have worked extremely well for me, but one of the biggest reasons why I chose this strap is because it uses the same type of webbing that attaches the strap to the camera like Nikon uses. So many of the straps I saw had thin spaghetti straps (for lack of a better description) plus the neck area on this is made from padded suede like Tamrac uses on their shoulder straps for camera bags. The suede grips my neck without sliding around (something I prefer) so it's both comfortable and functional. It also has the quick release buckles.
