Aftermarket camera straps....

As its been pointed out here my Camera straps for both my D800E and D600 kinda stick out.
So I am after ideas of what aftermarket straps there are out there and which would be suitable for me. Remember I do alot of wildlife with a heavy 80-400mmVR lens and that would be on my D800E and battery grip.

What is everyone using and why? I have started looking but others input would be greatly appreciated.

After trying several straps, including some from Black Rapid, I wound up using a BosStrap and a carabiner in place of the BosTail. With this rig I have all the benefits (sling straps rule, it's comfortable, light, easy to stow, camera goes one and comes off the strap quickly and easily) with none of the hassle (camera hangs at my side like I like it to, my tripod socket is free at all times and sits flat when I need to put it down).

I have a Black Rapid Yeti that I like for when I'm actively out and shooting in "photographer mode", but I find that it's a little cumbersome and overly "camera geek" when I'm out in human being/tourist mode. When I was in FL with my brother he had these Domke Gripper straps that he got from the folks at Canon at some point and they're great. They come in 1" and 1.5" varieties and are made of the same tough stuff that the Domke bag straps are made of, and have 2 rubbery gripper stripes on one side that make is so the camera just will not slide off your shoulder. It's pretty amazing - I've worn mine with several types of shirts and jackets and they just don't slip. I got mine form B&H for $20 for the 1.5" which is the same width as the Nikon straps. They also have a very convenient quick release for taking off the strap piece which is great when you stick the camera on a tripod and don't want the wind shaking it by waving the strap around.

I'm going to be using the black rapid strap with the bos tail. I just got them ordered and that combination seemed like the best option for me. After some great advice about the way the bos strap hangs, and then after the way the black rapid strap should keep the strap off my neck, and the way the combination will leave the tripod mount free.... well this choice seemed perfect for me!lol :D
But I have to give a lot of the credit to those here who helped me, by sharing their own preferences and why they liked them! :D

I use the Sun Sniper Pro.

In addition to great comfort and being fully adjustable, it also has a steel cable running through the strap so some wise guy can't cut your strap and take off with your camera.

Jake I agree with you 100% that's all I use the Domke 1.5 straps with the gripper . Love them I one on each body.

Maybe its just me, but I tend to prefer lugging my tripod with the camera mounted when I go out for a photoshoot. In most cases, I just disconnect the neck strap and leave it home. Weird huh?:confused:

I do the same thing but I leave the strap on the camera especially if I am outside and there is a chance the camera my get knocked over. I will have the strap around my neck and on the tripod. 26 years ago I had a camera get destroyed while on a tripod when a child knocked over the tripod and the camera hit the floor.
