If you are looking for an alternative to Photoshop and are using a Mac then this new entrant to the market has just released their Beta and its free to try.

I'm not a MAC user but I'll support *anything* that comes along that gives Adobe a legitimate run for their money. It's never good for consumers when one company reigns as "supremely" as Adobe does with Photoshop (raster) and Illustrator (vector). Competition is a good thing for everyone.

I installed Affinity Photo yesterday - just learning to navigate the interface. So far, my first impressions are positive.

Once this software exits the Beta stage, it's slated to become available through the app store for $50. At that price, I wouldn't think twice about choosing to buy it.
