My exact point. How I figured this out was in the prompts they give you an option to connect to the store. Well I selected it and the person in the store immediately checked the warehouse and told me there was not in stock. This was after my refund.
On a separate note I ordered my 18-140 off of Amazon and a distributor from Taiwan " ACelectonics (I think) sent me a brand new 18-140 lens for $385 where as in US you pay $500 brand new. Your just paying $200 for middleman. It was at my house DHL in two days. No customer service needed.

Just got my "in stock" Grey D5300 delivered in two days from Crutchfield. No complaints. Pictures to be posted ASAP. Came from a warehouse in Virginia not Taiwan. The Customer Service rep spoke English too.

Just ordered a Tamron 90mm Macro from Adorama - another great experience, no complaints.

Try calling Adorama customer service, telling them that when you switch from AF to MF, it loses focus and you have to focus it again. Then ask if that's normal, is the lens supposed to do that or should it keep focus when switching.

See what they say.

I actually had a bad out of the box D5100. They immediately sent me a return slip and all was handles asap.

I'm confused here.Sorry,I guess I'm from another time when people make mistakes and they don't blame others for not realizing and correcting it. I don't normally react from posts like these.But,REALLY? You admit your mistake. But still take the time to fault the other.

Seems they both made mistakes here. Something that would have led me to keep it to myself. Adorama is a very large internet presence that does provide a lot of very good service and information (much of it free) to the community at large. That being, most are going to defend them and justifiably so. Nobody is perfect 100% of the time.

Does anyone know if their site is down? I tried to get on last night and today and it wouldn't load. I called the store and no one answered. Tried chat and it didn't work either. I was able to get on adoramapix, which is where I tried the chat. I'm anxious to order my new lens.

LOL I just found this on Unglyhedgehound.com Mistakes will always happen. Adorama is a great site serves the community well.

We don't pretend that the CS team have any knowledge of photography or technical issues; if they did, we'd need to pay them a lot more - which would inevitably need to be passed on to the customers.

The Cs team are there to respond to the most basic of questions about item availability, returns policies etc - and to route calls to the people who can give the answers that are required.

If you want technical queries answered immediately, you are better off calling or emailing someone in the sales team or the Pro department, many of whom are also professional photographers. (Or posting on our Facebook or Twitter pages)
