Walt, I have been advised that in Scotland they are called Catkins and are mainly yellow or a very light tan colour.


I had to look Catkins up and it is a type of flower which is common in many plants/trees. The mesquite is one of them. Thanks Peter for making me get better educated. Ha!

The Oak and Pine trees are coated with these in spring and make everybody miserable. You know it is spring when the Pine pollen falls and the cars are coated in a green/yellow powder and everybody has watery eyes.
