A photo a day keeps the boredom away..

Hi!
So, I'm going to start a daily photo challenge to keep me entertained and make myself take a few photos each day. Hopefully it all goes well. I'll try as hard as I can to post a photo everyday I promise! :D
I was going to start it on the 1st of January but I just couldn't get it together for a number of reasons (laziness being pretty high up on the list!)
Anyway, here's my first few photos. They're taken in Bali, Indonesia, which is where I'm currently holidaying. I woke up early to have a go at snapping my first sunrise photos but it just didn't work which was a bit annoying. I came away with these which I think are ok but nothing spectacular. Please do give me feedback on all of my photos so I know what works and what doesn't. I'll have to have a go at round 2 of sunrise shots tomorrow morning!

Cheers,

Great idea Jaye. I try to take a camera with me as often as possible. It keeps me motivated.

Your images are a bit underexposed a bit and it makes me want to squint my eyes just to see the details of the boat. A fill flash to illuminate the boat or "fill" using CS photoshop would have work with the RAW file unless you were shooting for a silhouette effect.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm a bit annoyed because on my camera's screen it looked alright but when I saw them on the computer they were all underexposed. I should've looked at the histogram but it was starting to rain so I rushed it!

Ok here's the next instalment of photos. I couldn't post any photos yesterday because of sub par internet but now it's all good. I never got the chance to take sunrise pictures because I was really ill yesterday but I had to take a picture so I just took this from the balcony of our room. Nothing amazing but it's a photo right..?

These next 2 photos were taken this afternoon. I decided to just go for a walk along the beach with my camera and this kid was there with his latest catch. I managed to get some photos using my 55-200mm which was harder than I expected. Trying to get it to focus on something whilst trying not to shake all over the place is hard!

Next bunch.
This was just a shot of our hotel as I was giving my polariser a go. Amazing how it gets rid of almost all of the reflections off the water!

The next 2 are from me just messing about with my new flash. I was trying to use it to emphasise the texture but it didn't really work. The first one is a close up of the flower using my reverse ring which I am so far from understanding it's not funny. The second is just with the kit lens to have a go at some off camera flash because the reverse ring was too macro.
