WHen I see all these different articles about companies boasting numbers, I dont believe it for a millisecond. the same with smartphones. just hype. so many lenses. how many were sold? with 5 bad quarterly revenues and the stock being the lowest in 3 years, that says enough.
Just reading the article, and the current line up of lenses is 12, I've got 3 so only 9 to go

You've got a typo in your comment. The article states The current lineup of 1 Nikkor lenses....those aren't the lenses used on their DSLR's. According to Nikon, they show 87 lenses that are current.

I have no problem believing that Nikon has produced 90 million lenses. Is this hype? I don't know. I think it's just an interesting fact. I wonder how many guitars and basses Fender has made? How many motorcycles has Harley Davidson made? It doesn't really matter, but it is interesting to hear the figures for these revered companies that have been around for decades.
