I'm really happy with it. It has been on my d500 more than anything else recently. It's very light and a lot easier to carry around than my Tamron 70-200 and for the outdoor stuff I'm shooting, it's bright enough that the aperture isn't an issue. The 24-85 will be a completely different type of lens though so it really is a matter of whether you want more width or more zoom. I guess for the price of both you could also look at the 24-120 f4 and get some good zoom that way and a constant aperture as well as less lens swappingi bought the fx version but still interested in thoughts on the dx version , really looking for a nice mid zoom for my d500 probably settle on 24-85
buying one new for 360 dollars australian
