70-200mm f4 advice please

I haven't taken any great shots yet. But @Sambr has taken a lot of great animal shots. I have heard that my lens softens around 400mm area. But I heard it is great up to the 350mm range or may be a bit more.
I haven't been able to go searching for critters to shoot. Lol

It's difficult to ignore the reviews about the 80-400mm, but it's not completely written off for me. I'd be interested in seeing some shots in the 300-400mm range if you have any? I think you posted some long range shots in the street, but it's difficult for me to feel how that would look on a close up of a perched bird for instance.

No it hasn't seemed bad for auto focus! I took a couple flower shots today at around 350mm and will post them here for you.
