Hi All,

Just received my 70 - 200 F2.8 VRI Lens today. Ive taken a couple of test shots and the images appear really dark. The images are taken indoors, but even at shutter speed as slow as 1/100 the picture is almost black...

Is this normal? Is the lens suited to indoor shooting?

You know telling us shutter speed alone does not help us help you...

Are you shooting in Shutter Priority mode? Is your Exposure Compensation set to something negative? Are you accidentally in bracketing mode?

Probably a silly question but is there enough light indoors? Your aperture can't get any lower than 2.8. If you shoot in aperture priority, it will slow the shutter to expose properly. In A or S modes, the camera only has the option to adjust either shutter or aperture.

He can shoot it indoors no problem. He just needs to bump up his ISO, stay at 2.8 and use the VR to his advantage. If i can shoot my 70-300 indoors, he can do same with his 70-200.

Its just very poor lighting, nothing to do with the lens, I was just being silly trying it out indoors with the curtains closed (Realised afterwards). I love this leans already! Wish I never have to take it off my camera!
