52 photos in 2015 project

So do I. Have to think a bit.

Great idea,i dipped out of the 365 as it was controlling my photography but will give some thought to this.
I have tried a 365 on more than one occasion, and while it does improve your photography and your processing, I too found it took way too much of my time, taking, processing, uploading, and commenting on others images. I found one a week to be easier to work with... less pressure, more time to explore a theme more fully.
The 2015 project I want to do strict one a week, but I know there will be weeks where I cannot (caring for a sick parent) so I will be thinking about dialing it back so my 52 is "produce 52 themed images in one year"

This project is aimed at being as easy or as difficult as the individuals here want to make it for themselves :)

I haven't tried a 365 although I'd like to simply because I don't always have time with family and work... But this is right up my street, count me in!

I am in, although I will not be strict with a weekly upload.
I do take holidays occasionally, and that means NO COMPUTER...bliss.
I will post 52 images within the confines of 52 weeks though.
Splendid!

I like this idea. I also like the list and may pursue doing this as a bucket list to knock out. However, no shots for the sake of a shot. Instead, 52 good photos while checking off the bucket list.

Think I'm in.

this is how I viewed it. I found myself taking too many fluff shots on the 365. I am taking the 52 project seriously. Only the best of the week will be considered.

If I join I know I will take photos with primes only 35mm, 40mm, and 50mm

Have to figure out 52 themes - this makes me a bit struggling

I'll try it. I wasn't going to do another 365 because I found myself getting desperate at times finding something to use for a daily picture. I ended up not really liking some of the pictures I posted. I'll be using prime lenses as well. Either the 35, 40, or 50 depending on the situation. I'll modify the posted list some as well. Great idea.

Thanks for posting this idea. I was actually thinking of doing a 52 week challenge. The 365 has been the best thing for me to get my photographic feet under me, I have learned a tremendous amount that I can not replace. However, I am with most of you that have done a 365, WhEW!!!! it is tough some days, and I have posted some shots just for the sake of getting a shot. But I am still going with the 365 project and am surprised at myself. I will commit to the 2015 52 Week Challenge, with the hope that it will greatly improve my quality of photography as well as my use of Photo Shop and other processing programs. Thanks Nikonite Friends, lets do this !!

The first post will be your description, if you add any personal goals/guidelines and your list and should be posted before Jan 1. The first photo post would be after Jan 1.

I've just read thru this thread but I am still a bit confused

What do you mean by "description"?

Vixen, have a look over post 15 in this thread. As I read it, the description is just the list of parameters you set for yourself that you intend to follow for the challenge. I think the idea is to post it before the challenge starts, so that everyone can see your set plan. Good luck with it, it sounds like a fun challenge.

It looks like that I am the only one who is afraid of thinking/getting 52 themes plan. Cos I never know what happens in my business about time issues. This is/was the reason why I didn't join a year challenge.

I think I am a better cheerleader for this new project than a participant.

Thanks Anco. Yes, I get it now.

I KNOW I am taking a break after the 365 :D Will a week be enough? Dunno. I might still give this a bash tho :D

Anco is correct. Since this is about learning and improving and not everyone is at the same point, by allowing people to set their own "Guidelines", we thought it would make it more usable to more people.

Thinking that a number of people will just use the Nikonites list that Tracey started, and if you want to work on the same list as others, that would be the way to go. But, maybe there's themes on that list that you don't like, so you can change or make your own list. And can add your own guidelines to make it easier if needed or more difficult if desired.

You could go really simple and just do 52 photos using a particular lens and your goal being 52 photos in 1 year and not have to do 1 per week.

There are 52 themes on the first page of this thread... You can use those, in order or jumble them up... Then it's just up to you as to how you interpret them. That's what I plan to do, but I'll be aiming to use the themes in order.
