I don't get it. They just put out a new DX lens in this range, though from what I have read it's not worth the $. If it is of less quality than that, then why would they package it with a new pro DX everybody has been clamoring about for years? They still have the 16-85 in this range as well. The existing 18-55 is what it is, a kit lens for entry level which has it's niche. Like I say, I don't get this at all.

Pointless. If you want a better kit lens there are already alternatives out there and they'll probably be better than this anyway.
