18-55 question

quick question.I have an 18-200 VRII,I know that at the longer focal lengths the 18-200 is softer then the 55-200.how does the 18-200 compare to the 18-55 @ the 18-55 focal lengths?is the 18-55 any sharper?

not necessarily....but the 18-55 is not a highly rated lens....after all, it's a kit lens. Don't expect too much out of either one once you get out of the sweet spot of the 18-200 mm. Don't know the exact range for the sweet spot, but it's probably in the middle ranges somewhere. Each lens is a little different. You'll have to experiment. Good luck.
