18-55 kit lens rotation degree

Hi all!
I recently noticed that my 18-55 lens does not rotate fully to 55 but only to 45 and I was wondering if there is something wrong with it? I also feel like it's making a slighlty unusual sound when focusing sometimes.
Thanks in advance!

It sounds broken. Probably cheaper to get another one than getting it repaired by Nikon. If you live in the US, Adorama has refurbished 18-55 for $70 right now. You might want to think about a 18-105 or 18-140 for an upgrade. Also look for used or refurbished for those models too.

Definitely not an expert, but if it won't go to 55mm there is something is wrong. How old is it? Has it been dropped? I have one, not sure if it is exactly the same, but it goes smoothly from 18 through 55 mm.

Thank you for the comments.
The lens is about 3-4 years old and the last and only time it's been dropped was back in May when it fell on wooden floor from not more than 50cm. height. And I didn't notice any problems until a few weeks ago... I don't know if I could have not notices that for so long or can it be broken not because of falling...
I don't live in the US but thanks for the suggestion about Adorama.
It seems to be working ok on all other focal lenghts though..

If it works to your satisfaction like it is, then just keep using it, but be thinking about getting another lens. It could lock up at any time as it sounds like something internal is broken or loose and jamming things up.
