18-135mm for 200. Worth it? Or get something else?

USED NIKON DX 18-135 3.5-5.6 G 8 #U383947

Looking for a new kit lens to go with my new camera but I'm not sure which to get. Had my eyes on the 18-105mm but then I see this. Really good price but I'm wondering if it's an old lens because even the 18-105mm is more expensive, even a used one is almost 100 bucks more expensive than this. I'm guessing it has something to do with the "G" instead of VR.

So, should I go with this or is it not worth it?

For my walk around lens, I couldn't go without VR.
I know we used to do OK before they came out with VR, but I know I can get a lot more useable shots with it, especially when the lighting isn't the best.

Plenty of 18-140mmVR lenses in excellent condition can be found for $250-275. I bought one a couple weeks ago for $257 shipped.

Properly titled that's a Nikon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX. It's not a bad lens and the price is what I would expect for a specimen in Excellent condition. If you have the money, get the 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX instead. That's a really good lens. Not great, but very, very good.

I got the 18-105mm nikon lens a couple of months ago very happy with it. I was looking at the 18-140mm but it was just out of my price range at the time.
