Causes of "SD card is not formatted" errors?

He's had the issue with two different cards I think. Its strange, as they're the same type i used in the camera before i sold it to him, and never had any issues over 10's of thousands of pics Will tell him to format them in-camera once he's got them back from the data recovery place he's going...

Causes of "SD card is not formatted" errors?

I sold my old D3200 to a friend, who has been using it for the last few months without issue. Twice this month though, he has had an error message saying the sd card is damaged, cannot be used or is not formatted. These have come towards the end of a day taking pictures with no issue, checking...

    post your aviation shots!

I did a couple of photo workshops last year with Darren Harbar, one of the most well-reknowned aviation photographers here in the UK. First was the Bomber County one with their Lancaster and Mosquito, the next was my first evening/night shoot at the Shuttleworth Collection

    post your aviation shots!

I'm lucky enough to live about 45 minutes away from the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, so am a regular visitor - was there about 8 or 9 times last year! I'm even luckier to have had the chance to get to know George Haye, the owner and pilot of Spitfire MkIX RW382, currently painted to represent...

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

Had a much, much more satisfying day out with the new camera today, using both 200mm and 400mm Tamron lenses. The light was better to be honest, and the subjects are closer but the relative speeds past me are probably about the same. So, I feel much happier now!

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

Thanks Dawg, that does make sense as I understand the D7500 shares a lot with the D500. I'm heading off to Snetterton, my local racetrack, this morning to get some more camera practice at a trackday, so will give those suggestions a try

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

Yes sir, all on the D7500, with the 18-200mm, except for the Harvard. It was my go-to, catch-all lens on the old D3200. I know the lighting wasn't the best, although it wasn't atypical for Duxford's hangars, but it didn't seem to be as trouble-free, effortless photography when mounted on the D7500.

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

Here's a few of my results from the first experiment on Saturday. The hangar was very poorly lit, and on the ISO I would have used with the D3200, the shutter speed was too slow for handheld; ramping up the ISO past where the noise levels on the D3200 would have been unacceptable quickened the...

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

Thanks Captain. I may pop back to Duxford this weekend for another trial. It's probably a case of expecting too much, too quickly, when it's a drastically different piece of kit. Putting too much pressure on myself like I usually do to just have great pictures fall in to my SD card!

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

I got good results with the 400mm lens on my old D3200, such as this from Duxford last year. Going up to 1/400 with the prop driven warbirds I mostly photograph will lose too much motion from the props. And from Brands Hatch So, I'd kind of expected to get as good results with the new...

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

I was in shutter priority for the aerial shots, set to 1/200th. I'm not sure if it was an AF issue or VR, but had noticed that the VR effect wasn't as strong for want of a better description than it had been on the D3200. You're not wrong about them being different beasts! What was a menu...

    D7500 and Tamron 100-400 F/4.5-6.3 VR issues?

Hi folks, I recently upgraded from a D3200 to a D7500, and took it out for the first time earlier this week. I was playing around with some of the settings in fairly low light in an aircraft hangar, experimenting with how far I could push things like the ISO compared to the D3200, so I wasn't...

Black & white images with one selective colour

Thank you. The aircraft is known as the Suffolk Spitfire, and is based at Imperial War Museum in Duxford here in the UK. I'm lucky enough to know the owner/pilot, and have had several amazing encounters with it this year. If you'd like to find out more about this amazing aircraft, check out...

Black & white images with one selective colour

I found an online photo editor, www.ipiccy.com, that did the job. A bit rough around the edges, and not as good as Photoshop may have been, but I've got the effect I was after.

Black & white images with one selective colour

yes, selective colour is what I was on about, wasn't sure how best to describe it! I have a D3200, so don't think it has the selective colour option.

Black & white images with one selective colour

Apologies, this has probably been asked a million times....... Can anyone give me advice on how to create a black and white image, with one colour selective? I'm on a Windows PC, haven't got Photoshop, but have got NX Studio. I've got some pictures of my favourite Spitfire which has some nice...

    Night-time aviation photography advice?

In a couple of weeks time, I'm doing my first night-time aviation photography session at the Shuttleworth Collection. I've done a bit of research in to typical settings, and I *think* I have an idea, but don't want to lose too much time on the night uisng the wrong settings. I have a tripod...
