Once again, as I am relatively new to Nikon DSLR cameras, I am seeking advice. If all goes to plan, I should be receiving a ‘new to me’ Nikon D810 body within the next couple of weeks and, for a walk-about lens, I am thinking of something like a 28 – 105 ‘ish auto-focus zoom lens of modest cost...

I'm not sure whether they have snatched a body or are bringing one back. :unsure:

...as I have already posted an image, however, I just had to share this one. Bird strike on my bathroom window, There was no body on the floor outside so presumably the little critter flew away with a sore chest and a degree of embarrassment.

I came across this contraption in a large garden centre/plant nursery. It was suggested that it may have been an oven for heat-sterilising small quantities of soil or potting material but other than that I have no idea. :unsure:

This was one of a bunch of supermarket tulips that were on their last legs and starting to lose their petals. This caught my eye against the bright sky.

Two items heading for the recycling bins: I've just noticed that the exif data shows a created date of 2023, this is wrong and should be 2024-the camera date is set wrong and puts my ineptitude on display again. :rolleyes:

My local fishing pond had frozen over apart from a small corner. This was commandeered by the ducks and a solitary swan and they rebuffed any advances for space from the gulls so they had to stand on the ice.

The weather has kept me stuck in the house and it is challenging to find inspiration, however the idea for this shot crept into my head.

The mind plays tricks on a boring wet afternoon....
