    CT-16 or FC-16

I am a little confused as to what the difference is between the Neewer CT-16 and Neewer FC-16. The FC-16 has a higher frequency but apart from that what is the essential difference? Thanks Brian

    Funny noise?

I was out this morning along the river Leven in Cumbria (totally irrelevant really), I noticed that occasionally when I tilted the lens downwards it made a noise as if the mirror was rising and falling. Didn't do it all of the time but a little concerning. Does anyone have any clues as to what...

    67mm filter on a 77mm lens

I have two filters, a 67mm ND and a 67mm Polariser. I have two adapter rings to use on two of my lenses, the problem is one lens has a 77mm filter size. Is it feasible to use an adapter ring to use the 67mm filters on a 77mm lens? This would save my buying 77mm filters. Is it really worth...

    New (used) D8**** series

I am considering getting a D8*** series camera hopefully utilising my existing DX lens until I can afford 'proper' lens. I am sure that I have read somewhere that some DX lens's cannot be used on a full frame camera. Is this true? Also, if the DX lens can be used then surely it simply converts...

    Problem using Fn button

I cannot figure out how to use the Fn button, I had the same problem with my D90 so the problem is me. I have followed instructions from various sources to no avail. For instance, I want to use the horizon line when Fn is pressed but when I set it up for this and press Fn nothing happens. I must...

Camera setting for Neewer 750ii flash

Sorry for asking so many stupid questions. I have just bought a Neewer 750ii, mainly because I cannot afford a 'real' one. My questions are: (1) If I mount it on the camera hot-shoe, what setting should the camera be on i.e. P, S or A (or anything else). (2) I have the wireless bits CT-16 to use...

    D7000 overexposing?

Having just bought a D7000 I now read a lot of comments about it constantly overexposing. Is this a fact? or it's not being used properly. Please bear in mind that I am a relative newby to digital SLR's. Thanks Brian

    D90 exchanged for D7000

Will be getting my 'new' (shutter count 5000) D7000 soon. Similar to D90 so shouldn't be too difficult to learn. Brian

    D90 or D3400?

I am considering exchanging my D90 for a D3400 (cannot afford a D3500). Is it worth the bother? Thanks Brian

Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM

I have a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM used just for general messing about. I wonder if I should have bought the f3.5 version. Is there really much difference in quality between the two? Thanks Brian

    Dirty lens

Just bought a used Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens. It's in pretty good nick but the front lens looks to be slightly greasy. Tries a Lenspen to no avail and also some Optical Wonder fluid. Still looks a bit grubby. Any ideas for cleaning the lens properly? I have had loads of lenses and never...

Problem with shutter or aperture priority?

Just put on my new/old Tamron SP AF 60mm f2 Di-II LD (IF) lens. When I put the D90 to either aperture or shutter priority something happens that doesn't seem right. For example, if I set it to aperture priority, say f4. Take a picture then tried to change it to some other aperture, it will not...

    F(N) 75 lens on a D90

I have a F(N) camera with a 28-80 lens. Will this be OK to use on my D90? Also, the grip on the F75 has gone very tacky, is there a way of restoring it? Thanks in anticipation Brian

Beeping sound from my Sigma 17-70mm

Just received my used Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS lens. Looks to be in good condition. Attached it to my D90, switched it on and the lens was making a quiet beeping sound almost like morse code (maybe someone is sending me a subliminal message). It is there whether it is on auto, manual...

    Filter adapter rings

Don't know if this is the correct place, if not, I apologise. I have a 67mm ND filter and various other 67mm filters which I would like to use on my 58mm and 72mm lens filter screw. Would there be a problem with this? If not, would I need 58-67mm and 67-72mm adapters? Sorry if I seem a little...

    Wobbly lens

My Nikon 18-70mm 3.5-4.5G ED has a slight lateral play at the filter end. Haven't noticed this before although it might have always been there. Is this a great concern? Haven't notice any problem with pics though. Thanks Brian

My D90 doesn't like the cold?

I have a AF-S Nikkor 18-55 1:3.5 - 5.6G ED lens attached to my D90. Went out this morning to take some pics of the snow, sun and fog. The camera refused to work. It worked when I put the lens to manual focus but not auto. I noticed that in the viewfinder AE-L comes up. I put my nifty fifty on...

    Site to avoid

I don't know if this is the correct place for this but or even if I am allowed to do so. I bought a Nikon MB-D80 battery pack at what I believed to be a good price from Best Accessories Store UK, --for the best accessories selection and service. Little did I know that it was a fake. I should...

    Hoya 67mm HMC NDX400 Screw-in Filter

I recently purchased one of the Hoya NDX400 ND filters. This after reading reports that although a good filter, the main problem was cleaning it, especially when drops of water get on it. As this filter is going to be used near water a lot for blurring waterfalls etc, this does seem to be a...
