I can finally post here. :-)

Hello all, I have wanted a D500 from the time Nikon announced it. I have a D600, which I love, but since I do 90% wildlife, and most of that is birds, I wanted the great AF. Large buffer. 10 fps. And the extra reach of the crop sensor. But since I am disabled, money is not something I have much...

    You Almost Feel Bad...

You almost feel bad for this field mouse that this red-tailed hawk has caught and is about to eat. But it is nature as God designed it. Animals need to eat and they eat other animals. But we don't often see a scene like this one. Red-tailed Hawk With its Meal by Photos From My Wheelchair, on Flickr

Hot Air Balloon Photo Input Request

I would like input into this shot. What do you think of it? What could make it better? Is it worth putting more time into editing it? What would you do to it? Any other input? Thanks. 09082019-519-2 by Bill Friggle Photography, on Flickr

    Let's See Your Hummingbird Shots

I hope it is OK for me to start this thread. I just love hummingbirds, as many people do. And those little birds are special enough to have their own thread. So join me in sharing these amazing birds. Even if you posted them in other threads, lets put them in here all together so we can come...

    I thought I had a problem

I just paid off my D600 the other day.Today it started to act up. I thought, "you got to be kidding me." It would randomly shut down. When I got home I tried my other battery and it works fine. Thank you Lord. :-) But now I got to come up with $50 for a new battery. When I got the camera he...

Another Focus Problem w/ 200-500, but different than others........

Hello all, I am having a issue with my 200-500. Not like the other problems I have read about. It lock focus just fine. But if I am shooting beyond 25 yards, I am getting blurry photos.Closer shots are sharp. I noticed this when I got it but it was a lot further than 25 yards so I didn't care...

    14 Point Buck

I got some shots from behind from this huge buck and was not satisfied. So I kept going around to where he would come. And the other night he was there for about 20 minutes posing for me numerous times. I just wish I had my D600. Since my D300 only gives me a good shot of about 1-2 for every 10...

    Uncompressed Raw?

Hello, I was looking through my D600 menu, and noticed I did not see under the Raw settings a option for uncompressed raw. It has lossless compressed or compressed. But not uncompressed. Did I just not see it? Or is uncompressed not a option on this D600? Just took me by surprise. Thanks. Bill

    Which do you use?

Hey gang, I am wondering which you use for birds in flight and other birds not in flight? Do you use Matrix metering or spot metering? If you use both, which do you use for what? When do you use spot metering? When do you use spot metering. Thanks for the info.

    New member of the family

Hi all, Thanks to a great friend on the forum, I am now a new owner of a D600. Coming from the D300 I expect a difference. Especially ISO. With the D300 I tried to stay at ISO 800, and only when I had to pushed it to ISO 1600. I took some test shots with the D600 and was amazed. ISO 6400 looks...

    Some People on the River

I normally shoot birds or people. But enjoy shooting just about anything when I can. My wife and I went to Havre De Grace in Maryland and since boats and such where going up and down the river I thought I would take a few shots. All shot with a Nikon D300. and Nikon 200-500. 06102017-15-1 by...

    I met a friend

When I was out the other day I was along a crick looking to get a clear shot of a blue heron. I was looking through the trees and then there he was. (Or her.) It stayed totally still. I took a few shots and as I turned to leave it scampered down the tree and was gone. I was starting to think it...

    Sad News. Off Topic

Hello folks, I wanted to share this here since this is where I post most of my pictures. It is going to be a long time until I have anything new to post. Christmas day my camera took a dump. The consensus is the sensor went bad. Time will tell but it does not look good. And being on disability...

    What is Wrong?

I need your help. What caused this? Is it my camera? It has never done this before. It is over 9 years old. Or is it the memory card? It is only 2 months old and has never done it either. I am sick with worry it is my camera as we don't have the money to repair or replace it. Any thoughts?

    What could have been! :-(

Hello folks. Last time I was down at the Conowingo Dam in MD, I blew some shots from not reacting the the changing light and overexposed a series of images. And of course these would have been fantastic shots. At least I think so. I thought I would show you what I almost had. I was kicking...
