Great Horned Owls today. One baby brave enough to venture a ways from the nest, one on the edge, and a third who just isn't interested yet. They will all be out of the nest very soon.

"Hey, guys! Can you give me a little room to get back in the nest?"

Interesting, ours came a few days earlier than the last few years.

A few more fight shots

Saw all three youngsters poking their heads out today. :)

Went to the very eastern regions of Colorado to photograph Greater Prairie Chickens yesterday. The males are fighting for the attention of the females. This guy took a solid shot to the body. :)

Rain and snow last night, so lots of wet owls. I finally got a shot of all four babies in this nest. It was before sunrise and still really dark, but I got them all. :)

Feeding time this morning

Crows were harassing this owl, but she was holding her own just fine. She decided, though, to fly over to the nest and make sure her kids would be safe.

Mom watches as this youngster tries to balance on the edge of the nest. Still working on those coordination skills.
