    Pinewood Derby 2011

I was in Cub Scouts when I was a kid, and remember it being quite fun...until the Pinewood Derby of 1983. The Pack Leader's son was allowed to enter an out of spec car, which of course won the race. Fast forward 25 years. Yes, I hold a grudge. My fiancee's son is in Cub Scouts and it's time...

Doorways Weekly Challenge Jan. 11-19 This week's challenge is very straightforward and simple. Take your best shot of a doorway. Get those creative juices flowing...the shot can be straight on of a closed multi-colored doorway like the example, or you can shoot an open door showing shadows...

    Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8

Been thinking about getting this lens. Or possibly the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, as I've read that either one is comparable to the Nikkor version at about half the price. Will be using one of these for MMA fights. Does anyone have experience w/ either lens?

Do you have Photoshop? Same photo w/ some enhanced and gritty details. Sorry for the low quality of this one...the halos usually don't appear unless altering a jpeg image.

Mixed Martial Arts Training Session Photos

Nice shots, ZiN! I shoot MMA action too and you've done some great work here. I usually don't like off-kilter shots, but they work very well in this kind of setting. Kudos for using some creativity! Mr. Bautsch is right. You need an external flash. The lighting in these gyms and at MMA...

    Project 365 2011: Anthony Hereld

5/365: Fushigi II Some of you may have seen the original one I posted. If you didn't, you're not missing anything...it was garbage. I'm much happier with this one. Special thanks to my daughter for being my model today. Twice. :)

4/365: Learning to Draw I figured I'd throw some color into today's photo, and what better than colored pencils? All items are part of my daughter's Christmas presents. I got her all kinds of drawing stuff.

    Big things in 2011!

I didn't want to say anything until it was all official-like. And now that it is... I have transferred schools, and will no longer be pursuing a degree in IT. After some soul-searching and analysis of the lousy IT market, I decided that was no longer a viable path for me. I'm not really...

    Project 365 - 2011

With a new year rapidly approaching, I was just curious as to how many of you will be embarking on a Project 365 adventure in 2011? For those who don't know what this is, it's where you make a commitment to take a photo each and every single day for an entire year. If it sounds like a daunting...
