why no focus motor in an FTZ adapter?

Quite a lot of peoples replies are slightly annoying. I didn't ask whether Z mount lenses are better or sharper than F mount. I didn't ask whether I should adapt F mount to Z body or not. I didn't ask whether F mount lenses are good or not. The question is quite specific and it's about...

why no focus motor in an FTZ adapter?

If Nikon wants us to use F mount lenses but only manually focus them maybe they should implement a split prism viewfinder in software.

why no focus motor in an FTZ adapter?

So if you all think that F mount lenses are so rubbish then why did Nikon make an FTZ adapter at all?

why no focus motor in an FTZ adapter?

I'm still annoyed that Nikon hasn't made an FTZ with a focus motor to drive the screw drive on AF/AF-D lenses. It's one of the road blocks that's stopping me going from an F mount body to a Z mount. I found out yesterday that there is a Megadap adapter (MTZ11) that converts Leica M to Z, and it...

Looking for something more portable on a budget

well I went a bit rogue on you folks. I noticed that the 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 VR is getting really cheap now. So I bought one on MPB as I can return it if I don't like it. I like it. So I always considered the D3100 to be quite a small camera. Here's the D750 vs the D3100:- 20231124_092039 by...

the ones from Kew Gardens are straight from the camera, I haven't edited them in any way. It's nice that the D750 jpegs can be so nice straight from the camera.

Looking for something more portable on a budget

My original question was about a £200 to £300 camera. I'm simply not going to spend £2000 on a Z6ii combo. My "dream" camera right now is the ZF, but a dream is what it is. I had a lot of fun with the D750 with a couple of small primes in my pocket, and, it is a lot more portable. Not bad is...

Looking for something more portable on a budget

There's some interesting points in your answers thanks. I hadn't really considered a Z50. Maybe I should. Compared to a D7200 I'll get what one or two stops better performance in low light? and a bigger viewfinder. The Z24-70 sounds interesting too. I went out this evening to a "light show"...

Looking for something more portable on a budget

I compared a ZF with Z mount 24-120 F4 with my D750. It was exactly the same size. I would need £3000 to buy that rig. I really, really like the ZF, but I can't afford it, and it's no smaller. Having played with a ZF I'm not really interested in a Z5 or Z6.

Looking for something more portable on a budget

Hi. I bought my D750 with the 24-120 f4 about four years ago, and I really enjoy it. Prior to that I had a D3100 with the 18-55 kit which I then passed down to my daughter. She now has a D700 so the 3100 is surplus to requirements. I also have Sony Nex-6 with the tiny PZ 16-50 which I bought...

yes I did a reset, and I found how to set the compensation and made sure it's set to zero (it was)

    Yongnuo YN622N kit problems

The read lines I mention above are a complete red herring and a very silly mistake on my part. The transmitter has a focus assist pattern that it's shining on the subject area and that's what I'm seeing through the viewfinder. How silly of me.

    Yongnuo YN622N kit problems

there is another weird thing. With the transmitter attached I get a red box showing me what the camera is focusing on (as normal) but the focusing area is also full of faint vertical and horizontal red lines in a or sort of chequeplate pattern.

    Yongnuo YN622N kit problems

Hi I bought a Yongnuo YN622N kit and I am struggling a bit with it. I have a Nikon D750 and SB-700 speedlight. Problem 1. it says in the instructions that to go from manual to TTL I need to long press the GP/mode button on the transceiver and set it to orange for manual or green for TTL. I...

DSLR focusing and AF fine tuning on old AF-D lens question?

There is something that I don't understand. On a DSLR a small proportion of light (if I understand correctly) goes through the mirror and hits a second mirror that points the image down to an AF sensor. This AF sensor detects whether light is in phase in specific focus points, or not, and if not...
