EV Compensation -- I should know... but

Yes @FredKingston that would be OK if the shooting scenario was always the same, but with what I seem to be shooting most (BIF) it can be in many different directions and conditions. Clouds, bright sky, trees etc for backgrounds thus creating different lighting. I usually shoot "S" priority...

EV Compensation -- I should know... but

Just about the time I think I am getting a grasp on the EV +/- compensation concept, I seem to develop a fog in the brain. Ha! I have read and watched videos to explain how the camera works with the exposure and the gray/grey figure, etc. For me common sense seems that if I have a very bright...

    CWGRIZZ Playing Around--Trying to learn

You're right @Roy1961. I am really not much of a bird person, so I usually just flip a coin and guess. Ha! Osprey, Hawk, and Bird are all interchangeable for me. The only real birds that I can always identify are the local dove and quail in hunting season, buzzards and crows. ::what::

    Cwgrizz's Fifty-Two in 2015

Week 43 Theme: Columns This week, not being any place other than around the home place, I had to come up with something I could use for one of my themes. After having been giving about 400 landscape blocks and stacking them, I noticed that they were stacked in "columns." Perfect! Well...

    Roy's 365 2015

@Roy1961 A nice series of shots. I've never been to Legoland so this was a nice treat to see what they do with all of those plastic blocks. Ha! I'm going to date myself, but I want an "Erector Set" land or a "Tinker Toy" land. Ha! It is amazing what they can do with those things. I have a 30+...

Back Button Focus with AE-L added

@dave42 Nice post. I have been using BBF on my D5300 for quite awhile now, but the AE-L had always kind of bothered me because I had thought that I had lost it. Then I researched it and I did have the camera set of AE-L on 1/2 shutter button push. I guess when I first read about BBF that I...

    Cwgrizz's Fifty-Two in 2015

A few more just for "Bonus Posts" I'm not sure if I like the color here or the B&W posted in the previous post better The B&W seemed to fit the idea of OLD in the station photos, but then again I liked the sky and cloud colors. Decisions, decisions? Just mostly thinking out...

    Cwgrizz's Fifty-Two in 2015

Week 42 Theme: Old, B&W, Processing (In other words, I didn't get a shot that fit a theme in my list). This past week was sort of a tough week for various reasons. The following photos were taken during the proper week, but no geared toward any theme in my 52 challenge. That's OK because I...

    Why??

Today, while browsing a semi-local photo web site, I saw some interesting images posted. What caught my attention was that a photo was supposed to have been taken in Sep. in an area that averages that time of year of probably 90-100° F The image was hills covered in snow. Snow covered in 90+°...

    iPhone & Dropbox ??

Periodically I will take a picture with the iPhone that I want to share in a forum and my solution was to send it to myself using email and then I could pull it off of the computer for the forum (or other use). I can upload them to Dropbox as another option, but here is where the question comes...
