Day #18 Jan. 18 I was playing around with bracketing, preparing for an HDR sunset. After combining the three shots for HDR, I didn't really like what I had, so... I played around some more. Tried some Oil Paint effects using GIMP. This is a threadfor learning, isn't it. Ha!

AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm DX VR manual focus problem?

First @desertdonn Welcome to the Forum. Now, Your lens is acting normal. It is the nature of the beast, unlike manual focus lenses of old that did stop on the infinity settting. There are a few ways to get around what you are wanting to do. Use live view and zoom in to focus. The focus...

    Weekly Challenge Jan. 20 - Jan. 27: Discarded/Thrown Away

"Discarded/Thrown Away" - @mikew 's Choice After you discard it or throw it away, photograph it. It shouldn't be hard in our "throw away" society to find something to shoot. Ha! Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes! DO NOT SHOOT...

Reasons why I "like" a photograph.

For me, I agree with @Blacktop for the most part, however... (here it comes) it depends on the thread. Some I am more inclined to punch a Thanks/Like than other threads. "Thanks" for participating is one area. "Like" for good and better photos that speak out. Maybe the Thanks/Like could be...
