z6ii settings (changed from "BBAF on Z camera)

A new feature of z: override AF and its activation option, has made me troubled great. The override function is made default on S lenses (not available for other lenses), but disabling the function can be done on only SOME of the S lenses. I happen to use the 20mm f1.8 S which is not on the list...

z6ii settings (changed from "BBAF on Z camera)

Exactly pointed out in Perry's ebook. Easy recompose is added to the "press and release" benefit.

z6ii settings (changed from "BBAF on Z camera)

Yes, since z cameras provide so many new features everyone would pick some and not others for his/her specific need/interest. So here come all different viewpoints and yet all supported in different ways and senses. Think about this before plunging into Z. (I am too late to return D)

z6ii settings (changed from "BBAF on Z camera)

Ok, my bad. In z6ii it's a6 and the other option isn't AFSB, but AF-On/Shutter that's the one you can use both buttons for AF. So the dumb question: why "you don't want that one..."? My main reason for using both: sometimes my thumb is used for other tasks when engaging focus is needed...

z6ii settings (changed from "BBAF on Z camera)

Since upgrading from D3500 to z6ii, AF by the shutter button has been the only operating mode for me, kind of forgot the way of BBAF I operated with D3500. Just bought the AF ebook from Steve Perry (Fred recommended it) and read the front part of it. The section of BBAF reminds me of all the...

    Cause(s) of soft images

How will this help? Will it then show red squares on z images? I wonder if I can do this on my old Mac.

    Cause(s) of soft images

Yes, I use RRA. I think I know the cause of the issue now: The autofocus points option has already checked. That's why my old D3500 images show red reticle in Finder. However, since my Mac OSX is too old that the RRA can't be updated to work on new z6ii images. More and more apps stay...

    Cause(s) of soft images

Thanks. I now confirm seeing red square both after shot and playback. Still don't see it on my mac's Finder preview like old D3500 images. May need to set up somewhere on my computer...

    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

How do (I use present tense to mean all, not just recently posted) you catch all these small bird images with so high clarity? How far away from you? Are these (today's) with a snowy background? So bright. All wonderful shots.

    Cause(s) of soft images

I may have already set it up, but not sure, will check it again. BTW, does "playback" means replaying the images you have caught, not refreshing the image after clicking the shutter button? Also, I remember having a setting on d3500 that makes all images downloaded to computer display focus...

    Cause(s) of soft images

Actually, all subjects in my example photos were active at the time, some moved slowly (swimming ducks) some fast and abruptly (birds in pic1, 2, 3). I used "large AF area" before but wanted to try "object track". I had thought about "small AF area" but the next day I went back to the area for...
