    Hark's 2015 and 2016

Another one from this afternoon. An aqueduct carries the Delaware Canal over Brock Creek--in Yardley, PA. The Yardley Grist Mill is visible in the background. If I had taken a tripod, I would have used my 10-stop ND filter. This was handheld which I don't do all that often (tend to use a tripod...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

It seems when I have time to photograph this bridge, either the sky is completely blue without any trace of clouds, or it is overly cloudy with little trace of shadows on the bridge. It was still a nice day to be outside. :encouragement:

Reflector Boom Arm & possibly a light stand

Charlie, I ordered this from Amazon. Looking at differences between the Amazon photo pictured and one shown on B&H made by Avenger, mine looks like the Avenger one. It has pliable rubber grips that hold the reflector. Does yours look like this one, or does yours have actual clips? Avenger RH353...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

Last evening I returned to the church to photograph the Men's Bible Study. One of the men asked if the etched glass panels would be good for a background so we decided to take the photo there. Since I wanted to check my exposure ahead of time, I took a few test shots before the men came over...

    Feedback on 2 macro images

The other day a neighbor and her husband gave me some roses for my birthday. Since I recently got an Oben rail, I decided to try it for these. The rail worked flawlessly; however, I should have used some type of remote to fire the shutter. Live and learn as they definitely should have been a...

Feedback on My Offer To Models?

My CC: I don't know anything about setting up a web site, but I think you need to work on your About page. Below is what I see--I scrolled down the page to take this screen shot. There isn't any way to scroll sideways. The only way I could fit the entire width of the page on my laptop was to...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

Earlier this week I was asked to take some photos during my church's Youth Group. They met later in the day when the sun started to set. Since the church doesn't often offer evening services, there aren't any blinds or curtains blocking the sunlight. As I headed through the Narthex towards the...

Computer monitors and monitors for photography

Here is a somewhat related question: once a monitor is calibrated by whatever means, how should Photoshop's Color Management settings be set? If we want to calibrate for sRGB, what changes should be made to the default settings? I believe these are PCC's default settings for Color Management...

Where to sell cameras with bellows?

Yesterday I had a handyman do some work, and when he was getting ready to leave, he saw my camera birdhouse. He said he has some of these old bellows cameras that belonged to his dad and wondered where the best place to sell them would be. Are there any web sites that are particularly good...

    Epson P400 vs Canon Pro-10

B&H has a sale on a couple of printers. The Canon Pro-10 would cost $249.99 after the rebate and instant savings. The Epson P400 would be $485.82 after the instant savings. Can anyone shed light on which might be the overall better printer based on its abilities? Currently I have a Canon...

    Image insert

You are in the Basic Uploader. I just switched to it to see what would happen. Couldn't see any way to change it back, but once I closed my browser and came back, this is what I see now. Maybe someone can explain how to switch back if it doesn't automatically do it for you.

best way to brighten a stone wall

Okay...you asked. My first thought is to wonder if you are using a calibrated monitor. The colors seem to be too highly saturated for my preference.

    Disastrous Wedding Photos

Have you seen these :cower: wedding photos? Be sure to see the 3 at the bottom of the page where people have added captions! What surprises me is the photographer received $350 for 800+ photos. Wouldn't that price raise a red flag? Bride Claims Her Wedding Was Ruined by Amateur Photographer -...

    'Mention' notifications haywire?

In the past couple of days, I've received 'mention' notifications. When I click to access the info, nothing is there yet when reading through the new posts, I find the mentions. @jdeg can you please look into this? And when I did check on the mentions, the following showed up. What the heck...

Reflector Boom Arm & possibly a light stand

I went to my local camera store looking for a boom arm to hold a reflector I already own. I walked out with this kit which has more options for reflectors than what I own; however, the handle that tightens and secures the boom isn't the strongest so I want to return this kit. Westcott 5-in-1...

My take on it. Initially edited in Camera RAW and used the adjustment brush on some things then sent to PCC and did a little dodging.

    Blacktop's 366 day trip through 2016

Each time I see this it reminds me of a painting from the Impressionist era. Here is a painting by Edgar Degas. You should consider trying the oil paint feature in Photoshop. ;)
