    Weekly Challenge Sep.21 - 28: FLYERS

Grounded Flyer. ;) This is more for laughs than anything, but I couldn't resist. :beguiled:

By the way, thanks for the explanation, @WayneF -- it helps! ;)

    Lectures on Digital Photography

I only watched a couple of minutes of the first video, but within that short time, he mentioned something I've never heard of previously. Based on that, this video series may have some interesting information in it. So what did I learn? He wrote out a formula for Depth of Field which he claims...

How to delete printer profiles in PCC

I have searched in a variety of places but am not able to find the specific profiles. So I will just have to leave them be. Doing a search on MP620 doesn't bring up anything even though it is still listed as a profile in PCC. The driver for my old Canon printer was listed under Programs and...

How to delete printer profiles in PCC

Thank you, Paul and Jake. I will take a longer look at the info later when I have some time to really dig around and understand. Before I was even able to access the print options, this appeared on my screen. Any idea why, and if so, what do I need to do? I clicked OK which then took me to the...

How to delete printer profiles in PCC

Over the weekend I replaced my Canon MP620 all-in-one printer with a Canon MG7120 all-in-one printer. When I print an image from the MG7120, the MP620 printer profiles are still being listed in PCC. I deleted the MP620 from my computer's Devices and Printers, but how do I stop the profiles from...

    Telephoto Upgrade

When I bought mine, I couldn't find much info on Nikonites about this lens so this video played a big part in my decision. And like @hrstrat57 mentioned, the lens can be a bit soft at 300mm so I tend to keep it at 280mm or less.

    Changing cell phone providers

In October I will be able to switch to a different cell phone carrier. When I switched to Verizon for the plan I now have, they made sure I didn't have anything in writing until after the 10-day cancellation period. When I finally received info on my plan, I was told I'd get more data than what...

    Cathedral Caverns

Don, how is the interior lit (the photos without flash)? Is that natural light, or are there small hidden lights installed inside the cave? Maybe @WayneF can give you some pointers.

    Network Extender question

B&H has a network extender as their deal of the day today, but since I don't know anything about them, can anyone tell me if this one is decent? I need better reception upstairs which is the furthest location from my router. Or are there other features available in other network extenders that...

Have you seen this video? TJ Maxx lady

This showed up in my Facebook news feed today. The Facebook video is far funnier than the YouTube version because someone edited it and added closed captioning. Just wondering if she will become as famous as Chewbacca Mom. If you aren't on FB, sorry, as the link will take you there...

    Changing a shade of green

This evening I had a chance to play around with both types of edits that @nickt and @BackdoorHippie posted. Thank you to both of you--I can see benefits from both methods and appreciate learning new ways to edit. Jake, I have a question...when I went into the yellows, I thought the lightness...

    Changing a shade of green

This looks very interesting and will take a longer look a little later (have an appointment soon). That isn't anything I've ever done yet. I don't use LR, but Camera RAW offers the same features in a different layout which is what I use. So I did try something new to me. I used an adjustment...

    Post your Moths & Butterflies

Definitely not my normal subject--in fact, it's probably only my second or third time photographing a moth/butterfly.

    Changing a shade of green

It's better than what I came up with yesterday which is this after cropping: What did you do to get to that shade? Everything I was coming up with had a green tint to it, but when I moved the tint slider towards the magenta side, then the greens started to take on a pinkish cast.

    Changing a shade of green

Yesterday while at a park, I took a number of photos that contain a variety of shades of green. Unfortunately many of the shades are hideous and I'm having trouble adjusting them. I believe the problem may be due to the CP filter I'm using. I tend to watch the blues more than the greens which...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

One more from yesterday afternoon. I am assuming this is some type of moth as it was quite small and flitted about very quickly. It was difficult to get a good shot because by the time my lens focused, it would move to a new location. That did leave me with a couple of nice flower shots though...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

And these were taken this afternoon also at the same park. I was photographing the kayaks when the boat pulled in. They no sooner touched ground when the park employees immediately went over asking if they were fishing (and I have no idea where the park employees came from because they hadn't...
