EV -6
After the initial trial run, wanted to try something not usually seen with a long exposure. I had to add a few seconds to the shutter open time due to losing aperture diameter to the closer focus.
f/3.2 @ 646 seconds
f/3.2 @ 649 seconds
Sorry. Not even close.
See. I told you it was an easy one. That's it. Good old natural sand. Here's an 889 pixel crop from the middle of the original which was shot near 1:1, I think.
@wornish Did you experiment to get to 1/8 power, knew it would work from prior experimenting (experience), calculate it all out or use some other method??

Wasn't sure how I was going to start. Was on a different assignment (so to speak) and found this old hand operated water pump just beggin' me to shoot it.
So, here is "Old"
"Flash" - Shootraw's & Felisek's Choice
Note about the combined choice: @ShootRaw and @Felisek tied in the final round voting of the City Lights Challenge. The Challenge Team, after much discussion, opted to declare them co-winners of the challenge and let each pick a topic. The idea being...
EV -6
Same shot focused on the window, which I think I like better. Also at EV -6, f/2.8 @ 8 minutes (480.8 seconds to be precise), which brings me to a thought to add, that the actual calculated precise shutter speed for using f/2.8 at EV -6 is 512 seconds.
Nice shot.
Besides the WB off just a bit, the sky is a little blown out for me. I would process to pull some more detail from the clouds in this direction, which if you like, you can do better with the original than I did with the small JPEG.
EV -6
I figure go for the tough one first. This is EV -6 using f/2.8 @ 8 minutes. A night shot naturally, looking thru a window, thru the trees to a parking lot lit by overhead lights. The near trees were lit by a post lamp at camera right.
@traceyjj
I may have said this already and I may say it again (being forgetful as I am careless to be), but fine job on inspiring the 52 Projects for 2015. There is some fine photography appearing in the threads.

Shot a slew, a whole passel of photos in the fading sunlight New Years Eve. Like several of them, but I keep coming back to this little sunlit patch of tranquility.
My laptop has an intermittent communication issue with the wide world of web. Ordinarily, stuff happens, and I plod along and eventually figure it out or an update solves the issue or I forget and life goes on. This one is beginning to annoy a bit more and it messes with my viewing pleasure...
