Are you sure you are clicking the hood in place? I've read about issues with that hood though. The hood for my Nikon 80-400mm requires a little bit of pressure to lock in place, but it's very secure. As for not being weather sealed, down the road you might want to consider a raincoat. I prefer...

Thanks, Brent. You can call me either - but Cindy is fine. :) I really like the detail in this image. You rendered the contrast perfectly, DS!

Kudos on your lenses, DS! I wish I had the strength to hold the 200-500mm by hand, but my images came out blurred when I rented one (used VR and a fast shutter speed, too). I never tried the 16-80mm but have heard great things about it. So do you have a moon image taken at 1/60"? This one lists...

Post your favorite shot of 2022

This one is my favorite. It's because BackdoorArts (Jake) taught me something new during the editing process which was done here.

One more because a post will only accommodate 10 images.

Voting for Weekly Challenge DEC 7 - DEC 13: "Pointy Architectural Feature"

Please refrain from commenting. Unfortunately if the thread gets locked (to prevent comments), the poll closes immediately. The new forum's polls don't work like they did on the old forum - the poll choices don't carry over to a second or third page which means people would have to go back to...

    EXIF Info

And that it does! Thank you so much, @Fred Kingston! @Needa @Marilynne @cwgrizz you should see if EXIFY works with the browser of your choice. If it does, be sure to enable the date.

    EXIF Info

And I just confirmed EXIFY also works on Firefox. Definitely a plus to not have to click, but one big advantage is not having to read through a monument of EXIF data just to find the most pertinent info. Thanks again, @Fred Kingston!

    EXIF Info

I just installed it and hovered. It looks great so thank you for sharing the info. When I did a search for Chrome EXIF extensions, the other one was the only one to show up. This one doesn't list the date so our Challenge Team will get the final say in whether all the info or just the date...

I don't think so. When I click on the camera icon, it opens up the Chrome EXIF viewer. I just installed the other one you mentioned. Rather than to derail DS's thread any further, I will post comments under the new thread you started.

    Dangerous Spouse Pics

In my own thread I mentioned about seeing a camera icon after I edited my post. I see the camera icon on these images, too. When I click on it, it opens up the EXIF viewer (I'm on Chrome so it's that EXIF viewer). Hmm ... I'm trying to understand why this screenshot won't fit full screen. While...

Thanks, Brent. It only seems to show up for me here in Chrome. Thanks, Jeff. Guess I will play around with the length/width to see if I can determine the overall file size limit.

I edited my post above, and now I see a tiny camera icon in the upper left corner of each pic. And when I click on the icon, it brings up the EXIF with my Chrome EXIF viewer. Just curious if anyone else who has the Chrome EXIF viewer can see the icon.

These are all resized to 1024 pixels on the long side. I think the forum limitations have more to do with the overall file size rather than how wide/tall an image is on the long side.

Congratulations DS, and well done to all. This topic wasn't an easy one.

Well ... that was short-lived. At 2000 px on the long side, they are too big. Gonna have to back and resize them.
