    Photography and Life

Vincent Versace was the guest blogger on Scott Kelby's site yesterday. His blog entry isn't really an article about photography. But it will probably make you re-examine your approach. I bet this paragraph will make you want to read the entire article! "So here I am at the second [Nobel Peace...

    Keukenhof Gardens

My wife and I returned a couple days ago from our Benelux trip with the highlight being our visit to Keukenhof Gardens. If you haven't heard of Keukenhof, it is often referred to as "the most photographed place in the world". Why? It features 7 million flower bulbs planted by hand. A couple...

Looking for a good point & shoot

John: I bought my wife a S95 to take on our honeymoon last year. She uses it in Auto but the images are stellar. If I were to purchase one pocket camera today, it would be the S95 or S100. She took this image in Córdoba, Spain which I was blown away with:

    Clothesline

Excellent recommendation Marcel and one I wouldn't have thought to try. So something like this?

    Clothesline

Another example from the Ed Heaton workshop. I purposely went with a large aperture trying to create a bokeh effect. That worked well but the day was becoming overcast and I think that the image might be a bit dark. With not much of a color difference between the focal point and background...

    HDR Covered Bridge

Thanks all for the feedback. . . the sun was coming into the valley and as you can see didn't hit the bridge. I literally took two or three minutes with Viveza and slightly lightened up the bridge and the buttercups in the lower right corner. How does this look?

    HDR Covered Bridge

I went to a workshop yesterday by Ed Heaton. I was looking for opportunities to work on HDR and took this image. My question is do you think the covered bridge area should be lightened up just a tiny bit or is it okay? I've gone back on forth and can't decide whether to make the change or leave...

Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Creative Cloud Released

Adobe has released the new version of Photoshop CS6 along with the new Creative Cloud offering. The Creative Cloud is a subscription based model intended to reduce up-front investment cost. Personally, I'm a big proponent of cloud solutions but I'm not convinced that someone editing a 75MB RAW...

I know I haven't been around that much the last 5-6 weeks so I have to thank Jack, Helene and James for picking up some of the mod duties. And Pete for. . . being Pete. :playful: Since I started a new job in October I've been working out of the house - a lot! It made us realize that I needed...
