I did take this last weekend, but was so busy I completely forgot to upload it. Honest I did. This was week 2 Today was week 3 photo. Got kinda late before I took it, and was getting cloudy but I got it done.

Not even close to 365 but...

New Picture. One week in the ground. I had to cage it early to keep the dogs from stomping all over it.

A Long Wait. In more ways than one.

I was at a nature area near here today for a workshop on using Macro Lenses. I spotted this fellow exiting a stone wall but before I could shoot, he got spooked and backed into the wall. I ended up waiting almost an hour to get this shot. Every time he'd start out, someone would walk by and...

    Weekly Challenge May 4-11: Self

Since you guys took all of the good Ideas, I had to come up with something. I was going to put a photo of my feet propped on my computer desk. (standard working posture). I decided on a photo of a photo. Now I wonder if it will qualify??? The one photo is 2 months old, but the photo of the photo...

    Roses are red

Thanks to Helene (and no wind), I decided to try a little Focus Stacking using my 105mm Macro. CS5 does a pretty good job. Here is the results of 6 shots ISO was 200 Shutter 1/200 Aperture f3.2. Camera was 3' from the rose. OBTW. This was the first rose of this season and from the...

Not even close to 365 but...

This is just my little experiment at forcing myself to be persistent at something. I planted my Tomato Plants today. Two Cherry, two Big Boy, and two Yellow Slicing. Now I'm going to try documenting one of them's growth, by "Trying" to get out every weekend and taking a shot. It might be fun...

    Macro lenses...

Just to put my 2 cents worth in there. I have the 105. I can get as close as I want, but I can also back off a little bit in order to NOT spook anything live I'm shooting. This is one of my earlier shots with it.

    Weekly Challenge Apr. 20-27: Abstract

I call this one the AnitLilly. Actually, this was a surprise. I was sitting here, bored, at work (shhhh!! don't tell my boss). The garden club plants flowers on a hillside out front every year. I went out about 6:30 as the sun was starting to come up. I took a few shots and then came in a...

    Dogwoods Blossom

Hope all this works. I've had this new lens for a while, but still trying to get used to its quirks. I was hoping to get a few more of the veins on the petals but that just wasn't in the cards. I'm going to try again when the sun swings around fully on the flower, reducing the shadows.

    Printers

It's about time I upgraded my printer (HP C5800) Mine has outlived two computers, and is working on it's third. It's also very inefficient on Ink. It uses a Tricolor and Black cartridge combination. As I start my long quest in finding a new one, I'd like some ideas on what others are using...

Cloudy days not good for flowers

I was really disappointed about the clouds this morning. After "mama" picked up the girls, I took a nap. Woke up at 3 to sunny skys so I ran back up to the Tulip Fest... Here are a couple of shots. Iso was at 200 Some were using the 18-55 but also experimented with the 105 (not good with...

Cloudy days not good for flowers

Drove up to the Tulip Festival near here. I chose today because it was supposed to be a pretty day. Boy did the weatherman screw up. Heavy Dense fog all the way up there. Fog gone now but sill heavely overcast. It was also very chilly last night, which meant all the tulips were closed up...

    Weekly Challenge Apr 6-13: Childhood

Ok here's my entry. My granddaughter was just told she could pick some of the tulips. I thought we'd never catch up with her. Unfortunately, the day is very overcast, and this morning was extreemly foggy so all the tulips were closed up and the colors were rather dull. Young Regan (4) and...

Weekly Challenge Mar. 23-30: Family Pet

I have three dogs that are terrified of cameras. Evidently, the Flash reminds them of lightning which reminds them of Thunder. They run hide every time I get out the camera. I had to rely of my old tried and true pet. One I've had for many many years. He is even a hero. He defended me from...

    What's this called?

I saw this thread and couldn't sit still till I tried it. Thanks to Jack for the idea, and to Axman for the link on how to do it. It's the first thing I've tried in Photoshop. Other than the extreemly ugly subject, (I was reacting to gusts of wind and it was cold) I think it turned out OK.

off camera strobe and the D60

I was thinking of trying some shots with the strobe off the camera. I borrowed an SB-600 from a friend. I thought I could trigger the SB-600 remotely using the D60 Pop up flash. Nothing I did would make this work. I just could not find any setting to use to make this happen. I am beginning...

    Post your Moon Shots

OK, here's my best shot. Unfortunately, a haze was surrounding the mountain top so Saturday's pictures were a waste of time. This one was from Thursday night. ISO 400 1/500 F6.3 55-200 DX Zoom @ 200mm Wish I had that 55 - 300 but that's a long way off.
