This one is from Lago Maggiore, in the northern Italy. It's taken from Arona, in the Piemonte. It's an early morning shot, but I figured it was too cloudy to get a good sunrise.

I kind of like this picture of the smiling alpaca; how they are positioned, crossing over, all relax. I removed most colors in post, give more caracter to them I think. Let me know what you think

Here's a b&w +red variant of my poppy photograph. I am not sure I like it better that way.

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day. Poppies grew over the graves of soldiers in the Flanders fields in France since the Napoleonic wars of the 19th century and became symbole of hommage to the fallen during the First World War. Since them it is customary in Canada to wear a poppy for veterans day, or...

Experimenting with a tripod and longer exposure. I am happy to have fixed my old tripod. The sharpness and colors are great in my opinion.

For Halloween I tried to take pictures of jack-o-lanterns. It resulted in my first long exposure photography, at 30 seconds (the longest the d3200 permits) Results are great in my opinion. I'll surely try that again.

This one is a snap taken on my cellphone, on a boardwalk in Australia. I hope it's OK to post cellphone pictures... It's that trip that trigerred me to buy a DSLR; I preferred to use the cellphone than the point and shoot, and felt like a real camera was needed to get the picture I wanted...

This was one of the first shots when I got the D3200. Being that my previous experience was with point and shoot digital or non-digital SLR, I was going manual mode with manual focus. I really liked, straight on the camera, closing-up the picture, how detailed the wood grain was.

These two I made when I got the D3200, was experimenting with the lens. I still feel more in control using manual! Pretty much the same picture, but not the same focus point, thus changing the subject.

I sometimes take pictures that I would like to show, perhaps get feedback, advice on what to change and what's good. So here we go. My first picture for this thread. Comments/questions welcomed.

Greetings. I have an old husky elevator tripod by Quickset incorporated. It's a very heavy duty tripod. The legs are sturdy but two of the tension holding thing that keeps them extended are broken. Well, one is completely missing. They are plastic rings that screws in the upper leg to hold...
