Another day and another try to get swallows in flight, over on overcast day, and the rain just started, I can only say these birds move fast, so my plan was to get focus on the water, wait for a bird to more or less flight in my line of focus, then track it.

Had a little test with a Nikon 300mm lens today, quite impressed, easy to focus, just done a quick edit on this shot, more pictures to follow.

As the rain started, and I was walking back to the car, I just noticed this bullfinch, had a couple of seconds to aim, get focus lock and get 1 shot before it flew off.

Quite a few swallows on the lake today, wow they are fast, trying to get focus lock on them is tricky to say the least. So set myself up in a nice quiet corner, and watched them for a good 20 minutes, trying to work out a pattern they were flying in, I must apologize as it was very over cast...
